Aco Drops Gte Class After Manufacturer Exodus

WEC and Le Mans to Adopt GT3 Regulations for 2024

ACO Drops GTE Class After Manufacturer Exodus

GT3 Cars to Replace Current GTE Formula

The Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) has announced that it will adopt GT3 regulations for the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 2024 onwards. This move follows the decline of the current GTE regulations, with several manufacturers having either eliminated or scaled back their programs.

GT3 cars are a popular and successful class of race cars that are used in a variety of series around the world. They are typically based on production cars, but they are modified with performance-enhancing features such as roll cages, aerodynamic upgrades, and racing suspensions.

The ACO's decision to adopt GT3 regulations is a major shift for the WEC and Le Mans. GTE cars have been a mainstay of the series for many years, and they have produced some of the most exciting and competitive racing in endurance sports.

However, the ACO believes that GT3 regulations will be more sustainable in the long term. GT3 cars are less expensive to develop and maintain than GTE cars, and they are also more popular with manufacturers.

The adoption of GT3 regulations is a major step for the WEC and Le Mans. It marks the end of an era for GTE cars, but it also opens up a new chapter for endurance racing.
